Standing Beside Margaret and Paula Martin
It has been an honour to stand alongside sisters Margaret and Paula Martin as they engaged with the Diocese of Raphoe regarding its handling of the reports they made about the sexual abuse they suffered as children at the hands of Fr. Con Cunningham.
Their courage in speaking out, and in persisting through what has been a long and painful process, cannot be overstated. In bringing their voices to the fore, Margaret and Paula have not only sought recognition of their own experiences but have also helped shine a light on the importance of accountability and safeguarding within institutions.
We are proud to have supported them on this journey. Our role was to ensure that their concerns were heard and that they could engage with the Diocese with dignity and determination. Above all, this has been about standing with them as they reclaimed their voices.
Margaret and Paula’s strength serves as a reminder that justice is not only about the past but about creating safer spaces for future generations.
