Barry Donnelly | Partner, Corporate and Commercial

Barry specialises in commercial property, with extensive experience advising on commercial property matters in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and England and Wales. Barry has particular experience in respect of commercial property acquisitions, disposals, leasing and security. Barry also specialises in information law, including data protection, the General Data Protection Regulation, Freedom of Information and the Environmental Information Regulations.

Barry grew up in Omagh, County Tyrone and studied Law at Queen’s University Belfast , graduating in 2000. He undertook his professional legal training at the the College of Law in Chester. Following qualification in 2004, Barry worked for large commercial law firms in Manchester and Liverpool before returning to Northern Ireland to join Caldwell & Robinson in 2008.  In 2019, Barry became Head of Information Governance (and Data Protection Officer) at the Education Authority (Northern Ireland), where he developed specialist expertise in information law. Barry re-joined Caldwell & Robinson’s Corporate & Commercial team in 2026.
