International Academy of Family Lawyers

The International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL) is a global organisation of leading family lawyers who are recognised by their peers as the most experienced and skilled family law specialists within their respective jurisdictions.

Both Karen O’Leary, Senior Partner and Head of our Family Law Practice in Derry, and Geraldine Keehan, Partner and Head of our Family Law Practice in Dublin, were invited to join the IAFL and are currently fellows of the organisation. Karen is also a Board Member of the Committee of the European Chapter of the Academy.

Membership of the IAFL is by invitation only and involves a rigorous admission and approval process, which ensures that only the very highest calibre of lawyer is permitted to become a member.

In February 2023, Geraldine presented on a panel at the IAFL European Chapter Meeting in Venice, where she and other esteemed lawyers from Sweden, America, and Belgium, discussed the use of experts and evidence in Family Court proceedings. In June of 2023, Karen sat on the judging panel for the IAFL European Chapter Young Lawyers’ Award.
